UP Launches One-Lakh Government Jobs Drive with 818 Appointments

Uttar Pradesh has initiated a six-month employment drive aimed at providing government jobs to one lakh youth, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributing appointment letters to selected candidates at Lok Bhavan in Lucknow.

The launch phase covers 818 appointments across key departments, marking the beginning of a larger recruitment and appointment schedule that the state government has announced for the coming months.

Department-wise Deployment

The appointments cover 48 instructors under the Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department and 9 Assistant Statistical Officers under the Directorate of Industries, Kanpur. The Medical and Health Services Department has selected 357 X-ray Technicians, while the AYUSH Department accounts for 404 appointments across homeopathy, Ayurveda and Unani services.

Why It Matters

The initiative links public recruitment with service-delivery capacity, particularly in healthcare, technical training and departmental administration. The induction of X-ray technicians and AYUSH professionals can strengthen frontline health services, while vocational instructors can expand the state’s skill-development ecosystem.

The government has stated that the broader target is to provide one lakh government appointments within six months, with recruitment and appointment letters to be issued in phases.
