₹221 Crore Toll Contract Strengthens Operational Framework of Gorakhpur Link Expressway

Uttar Pradesh’s expressway infrastructure has received a fresh operational boost with Highway Infrastructure Limited securing a ₹220.66 crore contract from the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) for toll collection and allied operations on the Gorakhpur Link Expressway. The company received the Letter of Acceptance from UPEIDA for the two-year mandate.

The contract covers collection of user fees and operation of toll plazas, along with the deployment of four patrol-cum-safety vehicles and required personnel. The initial contract period is two years, with an extension of up to six months available at UPEIDA’s discretion.

Financially, the contract is structured at ₹105.08 crore for the first year, followed by a 10% escalation in the second year, taking the overall two-year contract value to ₹220.66 crore.

The contract extends beyond toll collection by integrating plaza management and road-safety support into the operational framework of the expressway. Efficient tolling can support smoother user-fee administration, while dedicated patrol-cum-safety vehicles add an operational layer for incident response and highway management.
