BEL Secures Additional Orders Worth ₹730 Crore
Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, has secured additional orders worth ₹730 crore, strengthening its position in India’s defence electronics and indigenous technology ecosystem.
The newly received orders are expected to contribute to the government’s objective of promoting Aatmanirbhar Bharat in defence by enhancing domestic capabilities in the design, development and production of advanced defence systems and electronic equipment. The contracts are likely to support critical requirements of the Indian Armed Forces and strengthen the country’s indigenous defence manufacturing base.
The additional orders further expand BEL’s order book and reflect continued demand for its defence and strategic electronics solutions. The company has been playing an important role in supporting the modernisation of India’s defence forces through locally developed technologies, systems and equipment.
The development is also significant from the perspective of Make in India, as increased domestic procurement and production can help reduce dependence on imported defence technologies while strengthening indigenous supply chains. Such projects are expected to generate opportunities for Indian industries, including small and medium enterprises involved in defence manufacturing and technology development.
