India-Japan Defence Cooperation: Rajnath Singh to Hold Bilateral Talks with Japanese Counterpart
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will hold bilateral talks with Japan’s Defence Minister Shinjiro Koizumi in New Delhi on August 20, 2026, with the meeting aimed at further strengthening the India-Japan defence and security partnership.
The discussions are expected to focus on expanding bilateral defence cooperation, deepening maritime security collaboration and advancing cooperation in defence equipment and technology under the Make in India framework. The engagement reflects the growing strategic convergence between India and Japan and their shared interest in maintaining peace, stability and security in the Indo-Pacific region.
