President Droupadi Murmu Inaugurates Spiritual Renewal Programme in Vadodara
President Droupadi Murmu on September 23, 2026, inaugurated the Brahma Kumaris’ programme titled “Spiritual Awakening for World Renewal” in Vadodara, Gujarat. She also inaugurated the Global Spiritual Palace Retreat Centre during the event.
On the occasion, the President virtually launched the Brahma Kumaris Nadiad programme “Youth for Viksit Bharat: Awakening Inner Strength for Nation Building.”
Addressing the gathering, President Murmu highlighted the importance of combining economic development with human development. She said that education should not only develop intellectual abilities but also awaken wisdom and discernment. She emphasized the need for progress that remains sensitive to nature and for developing the strength to exercise self-control rather than seeking control over others.
The President also highlighted the role of spirituality in connecting people and appreciated the Brahma Kumaris’ efforts to spread the message of meditation, spiritual knowledge, personal transformation and world renewal in India and other countries.
Speaking about individual transformation, President Murmu said that people have the potential to change their thoughts and actions, which can ultimately bring positive changes not only to individuals but also to society. She expressed confidence that the newly inaugurated Global Spiritual Palace would become a place where people from different sections of society could come together in peace and harmony.
Referring to the youth programme launched virtually from Nadiad, the President said that when young people channel their thoughts, emotions and actions positively, the impact extends to their families, workplaces, communities and ultimately the nation.
She stressed that awakening inner strength is not merely a message of personal development but also an important part of nation-building. According to the President, empowering young people is a collective responsibility, with the objective of making them self-reliant, peaceful and responsible citizens.
President Murmu further emphasized the idea of self-transformation as the foundation of social transformation. She called for connecting India’s spiritual heritage with the requirements of modern life and said the country’s goal should be to build an India that is economically prosperous, scientifically advanced, socially inclusive and spiritually awakened.
The programme brought together themes of spirituality, youth empowerment, personal transformation and nation-building, with the newly inaugurated Global Spiritual Palace envisioned as a centre for peace, harmony and spiritual engagement.
