India’s Global Engagement Strengthens Economic Resilience Amid Uncertainty
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has highlighted India’s expanding diplomatic engagement and strategic partnerships as key factors behind the country’s ability to maintain economic momentum amid global geopolitical and economic uncertainty.
Speaking in Goa, Shah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi travelled to 22 countries over the past year, while leaders from more than 15 countries visited India. He described the sustained diplomatic outreach as an important component of India’s response to conflicts and instability affecting the global economy.
According to Shah, continued dialogue, international cooperation and strategic partnerships enabled India to safeguard its economic interests while navigating disruptions linked to global conflicts. He noted that agreements covering areas such as energy, defence, technology, investment and trade have strengthened India’s international economic and strategic position.
The Home Minister also pointed to India’s 7.8% GDP growth in one quarter, describing it as an indicator of economic resilience despite challenging global conditions. He further highlighted the country’s progress in concluding Free Trade Agreements with international partners.
From a governance perspective, the approach reflects an emphasis on proactive diplomacy, diversified partnerships and economic preparedness. Sustained engagement with major economies and strategic partners can support trade, investment, energy security and technology cooperation.
The government’s broader diplomatic strategy therefore seeks to combine international outreach with domestic economic priorities, strengthening India’s capacity to respond to global uncertainties while advancing its long-term development objectives.
