Uttar Pradesh is strengthening its position as a major investment and manufacturing destination, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighting the state’s rapid progress in industry, infrastructure and exports at the inauguration of the fourth Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) 2026 in Greater Noida.

Shah said Uttar Pradesh is moving rapidly across investment, industry and manufacturing and is positioned to pursue its target of becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy. He linked the changing industrial landscape with expanding infrastructure, including expressways, highways, airports and improved connectivity.

The UPITS 2026 platform is reinforcing this investment ecosystem by bringing together more than 2,400 exhibitors and over 600 foreign buyers from 90 countries. The five-day trade event is designed to connect manufacturers, exporters, MSMEs and entrepreneurs with international markets and business opportunities.

A significant element of the state’s industrial strategy is the expansion of high-value manufacturing. Shah highlighted investments across all six nodes of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, while the state is also seeking to deepen its manufacturing base through industrial policies and export-oriented initiatives.

The broader policy significance lies in connecting infrastructure with production capacity and market access. Initiatives such as One District One Product have also been used to strengthen traditional industries and integrate local producers into wider domestic and international markets. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said UP’s exports are around ₹2 lakh crore, reflecting the growing role of manufacturing and MSMEs in the state economy.

For Uttar Pradesh, the next phase of growth will depend on converting investment interest into productive capacity, employment, exports and stronger industrial value chains. UPITS provides a platform for that transition by linking state-based enterprises with global buyers and investment networks.
