PRAGATI Robotics Park: Greater Noida to Emerge as a Hub for Robotics and AI Manufacturing

Digital GovernanceGovernance

Uttar Pradesh is strengthening its position in advanced manufacturing and emerging technologies with the approval of the PRAGATI Robotics Park in Greater Noida. The state cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on October 27, 2026, approved the proposal to establish the facility across approximately 69.52 acres, aiming to accelerate indigenous robotics manufacturing, artificial intelligence innovation and technology-led industrial growth.

PRAGATI stands for Platform for Robotics and AI Growth Through Technology and Innovation. The project is designed to bring robotics companies, technology startups, research institutions and industrial enterprises into an integrated ecosystem.

The park will be developed in two zones. The first zone, spread across eight acres will operate through a Special Purpose Vehicle under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The Greater Noida Authority will hold a 26% equity stake while the selected industrial partner will hold 74%. The second zone will cover 61.52 acres and support private investment in industrial units and associated activities.

The proposed facility will offer shared infrastructure, including robotics testing and certification centres, rapid prototyping facilities, AI computing infrastructure, motion-capture systems and data laboratories. These facilities are expected to help startups and businesses develop, test and commercialise advanced technologies more efficiently.

Investment, Employment and Economic Impact

According to the reported project estimates, the park is expected to generate more than one lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities and contribute approximately ₹2,000 crore annually in gross value added to the state economy once fully developed. Commercial operations in the first zone are targeted to begin within 36 months of SPV registration with an extension of up to 48 months permitted if required.

Strategic Significance

The PRAGATI Robotics Park could strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s transition from conventional manufacturing towards high-value, technology-intensive industries. By improving access to testing infrastructure, research facilities and AI computing resources, the project could reduce entry barriers for startups and support domestic robotics production.

Greater Noida’s existing electronics manufacturing base, connectivity and proximity to the upcoming Noida International Airport provide additional advantages. If implemented effectively, the initiative could attract technology investments, develop specialised skills and strengthen India’s broader ambition to reduce dependence on imported advanced technologies.

Governance Bharat Perspective

The project’s success will depend on timely execution, industry participation, research-industry collaboration and the creation of commercially viable domestic technologies. PRAGATI represents a strategic opportunity to connect public infrastructure, private investment and innovation, positioning Greater Noida as a potential centre for India’s next phase of industrial transformation.
