Greater Noida’s Multimodal Logistics Hub to Get 130-Metre Road Connectivity, Land Acquisition Begins

InfrastructureRoads & Highways

The upcoming Multimodal Logistics Hub in Greater Noida is set to receive stronger road and rail connectivity with the authorities initiating the land acquisition process for an 80-metre-wide road that will connect the project with the existing 130-metre-wide road network.

According to the development plan around 25 hectares of land will be acquired for the proposed road infrastructure. The project is expected to strengthen last-mile connectivity to the logistics hub and improve the movement of freight between industrial areas, transport terminals and regional markets.

The proposed acquisition is likely to affect around 284 families. The authorities have initiated the process for identifying and acquiring the required land while surveys and administrative procedures are being undertaken. Compensation and other applicable rehabilitation-related measures will be taken up as part of the acquisition process.

The road project is significant because the multimodal logistics hub is being developed as an integrated freight-handling ecosystem, linking different modes of transportation. Improved road access will be critical for efficient movement of goods and for reducing logistical bottlenecks around the project.

The plan also includes expansion of rail connectivity, indicating a broader effort to integrate road and rail infrastructure around the logistics hub. Officials are expected to undertake further surveys and consultations before finalising the affected land parcels and acquisition-related arrangements.

Governance & Economic Impact

The connectivity project can strengthen Greater Noida’s position as a major logistics and industrial node in the National Capital Region. Better integration of road and rail networks can reduce freight transit time, improve supply-chain efficiency and support new industrial investment. For Uttar Pradesh, the project aligns with the broader policy objective of developing multimodal transport infrastructure and creating logistics capacity closer to major manufacturing and consumption markets.
