UPITS 2026 Sets New Business Benchmark with ₹6,500 Crore MoUs and ₹15,500 Crore Potential Trade

Governance & Public PolicyPolicy Analysis

Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) 2026 has emerged as a significant platform for converting the state’s manufacturing, MSME, handicraft and food-processing capabilities into wider domestic and international business opportunities. The fourth edition concluded with 4,400 MoUs valued at around ₹6,500 crore, while business enquiries generated during the five-day event indicated a potential trade opportunity of nearly ₹15,500 crore.

Held from September 25 to 29 at India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida, the trade show recorded 41,500 B2B meetings and 5,98,693 visitors and business buyers, strengthening the state’s positioning as an investment, sourcing and export destination.

B2B Engagement Drives Market Expansion

According to official FIEO figures cited for the event, 41,500 B2B meetings were conducted including 13,500 meetings under the Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet (RBSM) and around 28,000 meetings in the main exhibition area. Compared with 31,650 B2B meetings reported in 2025, this represents a rise of more than 31%.

The RBSM segment recorded particularly strong expansion, with meetings increasing from 6,050 to 13,500. This growth is significant from an export-governance perspective because direct engagement with international buyers can help MSMEs and regional manufacturers understand global demand, quality requirements, pricing and sourcing standards.

The number of MoUs also increased from 3,900 to 4,400. More importantly, the reported value of MoUs rose sharply to around ₹6,500 crore, indicating a larger financial scale of business commitments associated with the trade platform. Potential business enquiries also increased from ₹12,500 crore to ₹15,500 crore.

Six Partner Countries Expand Global Outreach

UPITS 2026 widened its international footprint with participation from Russia, Austria, Japan, Singapore, Belarus and Vietnam as partner countries. International engagement across manufacturing, electronics, IT, textiles and agri-food processing provided Uttar Pradesh enterprises with opportunities to explore new markets and supply-chain partnerships.

The broader international participation also reflects the growing importance of trade platforms in connecting state-level production ecosystems with global sourcing networks.

ODOC Links Local Identity with Commercial Opportunity

The One District, One Cuisine (ODOC) initiative became another major attraction, bringing the culinary identity of all 75 districts onto a common platform. Beyond cultural promotion the model creates opportunities across food processing, packaging, hospitality, tourism, branding and retail.

The larger significance of UPITS 2026 lies in its integration of investment, exports, MSMEs, local products, international buyers and cultural assets within one business ecosystem. With 75 districts represented, the trade show provided regional enterprises with a route to expand beyond local markets and engage with larger commercial networks.

For Uttar Pradesh, the key governance challenge now shifts from exhibition-led engagement to conversion—turning MoUs and business enquiries into actual investments, purchase orders, exports, employment and sustained enterprise growth. The scale of commitments generated at UPITS 2026 provides a substantial pipeline that can be tracked through implementation, investment realisation and export outcomes.

With ₹6,500 crore in reported MoUs, ₹15,500 crore in potential business, 41,500 B2B meetings and nearly 5.99 lakh footfall, UPITS 2026 has strengthened its role as a state-level mechanism for connecting Uttar Pradesh’s production base with national and international markets.
