Jitin Prasada Lays Foundation for BEDF Basmati and Organic Training Centre in Pilibhit
Union Minister Jitin Prasada laid the foundation stone for the Basmati Export Development Foundation (BEDF) Basmati and Organic Training Centre in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, marking an important step towards strengthening agricultural capacity, value addition and export-oriented farming in the region.
The proposed training centre is expected to support farmers through skill development, modern agricultural practices and technical capacity building with a particular focus on Basmati rice and organic farming. Such institutional infrastructure can help farmers improve productivity, quality standards and compliance with requirements of domestic and international markets.
The initiative also underlines the importance of developing farmer-centric agricultural ecosystems that connect cultivation with processing, certification, branding and market access. Training and awareness programmes can enable farmers to adopt improved production techniques while promoting sustainable and environmentally responsible agricultural practices.
