Ram Temple Trust Gets First Woman Trustee: Three New Members
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which oversees the construction, administration and management of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, has inducted three new trustees, marking a significant organisational development. The appointments were made on September 2, 2026, alongside the appointment of retired Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra as the Trust’s first Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The Three New Trustees
1. Dr Nirmala Yadav
Dr Nirmala Yadav, an academician and retired college principal from Shikohabad, has become the first woman trustee of the Trust. Her induction represents greater representation of women in the institution’s decision-making structure.
2. Madan Mohan Pandey
Madan Mohan Pandey is an advocate and former Additional Advocate General of Uttar Pradesh. He has been associated with legal proceedings related to the Ram Janmabhoomi matter, bringing substantial legal and administrative experience to the Trust.
3. Mahesh Bhagchandka
Delhi-based businessman and social worker Mahesh Bhagchandka has also joined the Trust. He has been assigned the responsibility of treasurer, adding financial and institutional management experience to the Trust’s administrative framework.
Governance Significance
The appointments expand the Trust’s institutional representation by bringing together education, legal expertise, philanthropy and financial management. The induction of its first woman trustee is particularly notable from an inclusion and representation perspective.
The organisational restructuring comes amid efforts to strengthen administrative systems and public confidence in the Trust. The appointment of a dedicated CEO, new trustees and changes in key office-bearer positions indicate a move towards a more structured and professionally managed governance framework.
