Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra Appointed First CEO of Ram Janmabhoomi Trust

Retired Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra has been appointed as the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which oversees the administration and development of the Ram Temple complex in Ayodhya. The appointment marks a significant step towards strengthening the Trust’s institutional and administrative framework. 

Mishra brings nearly four decades of experience in the Indian Air Force, including senior command and operational responsibilities. He served as the head of the Western Air Command and played a key leadership role during Operation Sindoor. His extensive experience in organisational management, strategic planning and operational coordination is expected to support the Trust’s efforts to establish more systematic administrative processes. 

The CEO selection followed a multi-stage process. According to the Trust, 5,585 applications were received, after which candidates were screened through technology-enabled and manual assessments. Sixteen candidates were subsequently shortlisted for detailed interactions, with a final panel of three candidates placed before the Trust for consideration. 

As CEO, Mishra is expected to oversee statutory, administrative and financial matters, while developing institutional procedures, strengthening organizational systems and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. The move is aimed at bringing greater professionalism, accountability and operational efficiency to the Trust’s functioning.

The appointment is part of a broader organisational restructuring within the Trust, which has also announced changes in key office-bearer positions and inducted new trustees. The restructuring is intended to enhance governance, transparency and management of the temple’s expanding administrative responsibilities.
