Japanese Delegation Reviews Functioning of Women Power Line 1090 in Uttar Pradesh

 A Japanese delegation reviewed the functioning of Uttar Pradesh’s Women Power Line 1090, gaining insights into the State’s institutional mechanism for addressing women-related grievances and strengthening women’s safety and empowerment.

During the interaction, the delegation was briefed on the complete grievance-redressal process, beginning with the receipt of complaints and extending to counselling, follow-up, coordination with concerned agencies and resolution of grievances. The delegation also examined how technology-enabled systems are integrated with counselling and support mechanisms to ensure timely and responsive assistance to women.

Officials highlighted the role of Women Power Line 1090 in providing an accessible platform for women to report concerns and seek support. The system focuses on victim-sensitive grievance handling, continuous monitoring and coordination with field-level authorities wherever required.

The visit provided an opportunity for Uttar Pradesh and Japan to exchange experiences on institutional approaches to women’s safety, protection and empowerment. The discussions focused on strengthening service delivery, improving responsiveness and adopting effective practices that can contribute to a safer and more supportive environment for women.

The Japanese delegation appreciated the structured functioning of the Women Power Line 1090 and its emphasis on counselling and grievance redressal.
