Governance & Public PolicyPolicy Analysis

Uttar Pradesh has finalised the selection of 29 candidates under the Chief Minister Udyami Mitra (UM) Yojana following the completion of a multi-stage recruitment and evaluation process. The final merit list has been released by Invest UP, marking an important step towards strengthening investment facilitation and improving coordination between the government and the industrial sector.

The selection process was conducted through multiple stages to ensure transparency, merit-based assessment and suitability of candidates for the responsibilities assigned under the programme. Following scrutiny and evaluation, the final merit list was prepared and appointments were subsequently finalised.

The Udyami Mitra initiative is aimed at providing institutional support to investors and entrepreneurs by facilitating coordination with relevant government departments and assisting in resolving issues related to investment proposals. The selected candidates are expected to contribute to a more responsive and investor-friendly business environment in the state.

The appointment of 29 Udyami Mitras is also expected to strengthen Invest UP’s field-level investment facilitation mechanism. By supporting investors through various stages of project implementation, the initiative can help improve ease of doing business, accelerate project execution and strengthen coordination between stakeholders.

The move reflects Uttar Pradesh’s continued focus on promoting investment, entrepreneurship, employment generation and industrial development through structured governance mechanisms. The finalisation of appointments is expected to further enhance the state’s capacity to facilitate investments and support entrepreneurs in translating proposals into operational projects.
