UP International Trade Show 2026 to Give Students Hands-On Exposure to Global Business and Entrepreneurship
The Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) 2026 is being positioned not only as a platform for trade and investment but also as an experiential learning opportunity for students. As part of the initiative, students from Gautam Buddha University will actively participate in the five-day event scheduled from September 25 to 29.
The student engagement programme is designed to give young participants first-hand exposure to entrepreneurship, startups, career opportunities, international business and event management. Instead of limiting their role to that of visitors, students will work as volunteers and assist with several operational and knowledge-based activities during the exhibition.
Students to Take Up Multiple Responsibilities
According to the planned arrangements, students will be involved in activities including shuttle operations, visitor scanning, cultural programmes, knowledge sessions, information desks and B2B meetings.
Four dedicated volunteer teams have been formed to distribute responsibilities among participating students. Faculty supervision and designated nodal contacts will also be available to coordinate their involvement throughout the event.
The initiative is intended to provide students with practical experience in managing a large-scale international business exhibition while allowing them to observe how industry and business interactions take place outside the classroom.
Direct Interaction with Startups and Founders
Entrepreneurship and innovation will form an important part of the student-focused activities at UPITS 2026.
The programme will include a Young Entrepreneur Hunt as well as a dedicated Startup and Founder Zone. Students will have opportunities to interact directly with entrepreneurs and startup founders, including planned 15-minute interaction sessions.
A Career Corner will also provide information related to internships and live projects. Through these activities, students will be able to gain a better understanding of industry requirements, employment opportunities and the practical aspects of working on real-world projects.
International Passport to Encourage Global Learning
To make the student experience more interactive, an International Passport initiative has been planned. Students will be encouraged to collect 10 to 15 stamps by participating in designated activities across the exhibition.
The event will also feature photo installations and country-themed walls showcasing different nations. In addition, the College Expo Ambassador programme is being planned to increase participation, with approximately 5 to 10 students from each participating college potentially being selected as ambassadors.
Expo Passport to Include Discovery Tasks and Guided Trails
A dedicated Expo Passport has also been incorporated into the learning and recognition framework for students.
Participants will be required to complete 8 to 10 discovery tasks designed to encourage them to explore different sections of the trade show. In addition, 45 to 60-minute guided thematic trails will allow students to explore selected areas of the exhibition with a structured learning objective.
Students completing the prescribed activities will receive certificates of completion, providing formal recognition of their participation.
Connecting Students with Industry and Global Opportunities
The participation of Gautam Buddha University students is expected to add an educational dimension to UPITS 2026 by connecting academic learning with practical exposure to the business world.
Through volunteering, startup interactions, career sessions and international business activities, students will gain exposure to areas including entrepreneurship, innovation, industry, career development and global trade.
The initiative reflects an effort to make UPITS more than a conventional trade exhibition by creating opportunities for young people to engage directly with businesses, entrepreneurs and international participants while developing practical knowledge through real-world experiences.
