Anurag Jain Assumes Charge as NITI Aayog CEO for Two-Year Term

A 1989-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, Jain recently completed his tenure as the Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh before moving to the Union Government. His administrative experience at both the state and central levels is expected to support the government’s focus on strengthening policy implementation and improving governance outcomes.

As CEO of NITI Aayog, Jain will play an important role in supporting the institution’s policy advisory and strategic planning functions. The position involves coordinating with Central ministries, State Governments and other stakeholders on development priorities and policy initiatives.

His appointment comes at a significant juncture, as the government continues to emphasise effective policy execution, outcome-based governance, economic growth, infrastructure development and improved public service delivery.
