The Government has outlined a series of ambitious initiatives aimed at strengthening human capital, technological capacity, social welfare, national security and energy security.

A major focus is on artificial intelligence (AI) skilling, with a target to provide AI-related training to one crore youth within one year. Alongside this, a free online coaching network for competitive examinations is proposed to improve access to quality preparatory resources, particularly for students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.

To promote sports at the grassroots level, a nationwide sports talent identification campaign for children aged 5–15 years is planned. The initiative seeks to identify sporting potential at an early age and strengthen India’s talent pipeline.

The Government also aims to establish a stronger civil defence network capable of responding effectively to emerging and modern security challenges, with greater preparedness, coordination and community participation.

In the energy sector, India has set an ambitious objective of achieving 100 GW of nuclear power capacity by 2047. The plan includes developing five new nuclear reactors during the current decade, supporting long-term energy security and low-carbon electricity generation.

Under the women-led development agenda, the target has been enhanced to six crore Lakhpati Didis, with a focus on strengthening women’s livelihoods, entrepreneurship and household incomes through rural economic opportunities.

The Government is also seeking to expand semiconductor manufacturing capacity by establishing more semiconductor plants. The initiative is intended to deepen domestic manufacturing capabilities, strengthen supply-chain resilience and advance India’s goal of greater technological self-reliance.

Together, these measures reflect a broad development strategy centred on skill development, inclusive opportunities, national preparedness, clean energy, women-led growth and technological self-reliance.
