New Dairy Plant and Development Projects to Strengthen Cooperative Sector in Rajasthan
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for a new dairy plant at the Alwar Saras Dairy complex, marking a significant step towards strengthening Rajasthan’s dairy infrastructure and cooperative ecosystem.
During the programme, dairy processing plants and cattle feed plants associated with various milk unions will also be inaugurated virtually. In addition, development projects worth ₹6,262 crore across 17 districts will receive virtual foundation stones or inaugurations, covering multiple areas of public infrastructure and regional development.
The initiatives are aligned with the government’s broader objective of strengthening cooperative institutions and enhancing the economic resilience of farmers. The expansion of dairy processing capacity is expected to support value addition in the dairy sector, improve processing infrastructure and create greater opportunities for milk producers.
The initiatives reflect the vision of ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’, which seeks to promote cooperation-based development by empowering farmers, strengthening Primary Agricultural Credit Societies and other cooperative institutions, and improving their participation in the rural economy.
The new dairy and cattle feed infrastructure is expected to contribute to a more integrated dairy value chain, while the wider development projects across 17 districts are aimed at accelerating infrastructure-led growth and improving public service delivery.
Overall, the initiatives underline the government’s focus on cooperative-led rural development, farmer empowerment, modern dairy infrastructure and inclusive economic growth in Rajasthan.
