Bar Council withdraws order suspending enrolment of NALSAR grads over CJI-convocation row

The Bar Council of India (BCI) has withdrawn its earlier order seeking to suspend the enrolment of law graduates from the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad, amid a controversy linked to the institution’s convocation and the participation of the Chief Justice of India.

The earlier BCI directive had raised concerns among NALSAR graduates after the Council indicated that a final decision on the proposed suspension of enrolments would be taken on August 19. The Council had also sought a report from the NALSAR Vice-Chancellor within three days to examine the circumstances surrounding the issue.

The withdrawal of the order provides immediate relief to NALSAR graduates and removes uncertainty regarding their professional enrolment with State Bar Councils.
